Meine Familie,
Ahhh....Transfer calls were on Saturday and I am getting transferred back to the EAST!!!! I am so excited to go back to the east...the west is nice, but the east feels more at home! I will be serving in Cottbus. It is right next to Berlin and I am excited because I will once again get to go back to the temple once a transfer!! It will be a different experence though because my whole mission up to this point I have always shared the city with a senior couple and Elders and this time it will be just me and my companion. But I am way excited!! I will be leaving tomorrow...for a long train ride there. My new companion is Sister Olson and she is going into her 2nd transfer, so still a Golden. I am excited to serve with her....

Umm... before I talk about the week: Happy Birthday to Grandma Anderson!!!!!
This week was a good week...Mom asked me what "Naja" means because I use that alot...I guess you can translate it into "Oh, well" I really do not know how to translate it though...But that is pretty close. And also, we do move the clocks here back an hour, mom asked that as well.
We met with Gustave this week and it was really awesome!! We went over there at about 10 in the morning and talked to him alot about the Book of Mormon and the Bible and that they both compliment one another and then we talked about baptism. . . in the middle of the appointment he asked us if he is allowed to get baptized twice because he was baptized in the Catholic church when he was twelve. At this point we knew we would be setting a date with him and he will be baptized on January 8th. I am so excited!!!! Though I probably will not be there, I am glad I can have a part in these people lives!!
Marian is still on date for December 11th. It is very difficult with her though because in our last appointment we came to the conclusion that she has seriously been brainwashed and so we just do not know how to help her. She has a desire to be baptized again but does not understand that it needs to be with the priesthood authority. It is difficult to get through to her to make her understand that what is said in the Book of Mormon is truth and that is all that we share and talk about is this truth. She is a wonderful person and I really do hope she can make it to baptism, it is just difficult to really teach her the doctrine.
Douglas is going out of town this week for a little while to visit a friend who is sick, so we went by his shop and brought him a Book of Mormon to give to his friend and he is going to do it. I am so excited that we are getting our investigators to share the gospel as well!!! It is so exciting!
Our appointment with Schwester Räwel this week was very interesting. She is a less active because of health promblems and she is a heavier woman and has really bad hip problems. So, when she goes to the bathroom she has to leave the door open and when she does this Sister Dorsey and I just sit in the living room and wait for her to come bacl. Well, she has to wear diapers and I guess she needed help with that and so she makes her way to the living room and walks in with her pants down and asked Sister Dorsey to help her put the diaper through her legs. . . one of the most disgusting and awkward experiences on my mission and I am at least grateful that Sister Dorsey did it because I do not know if I could have. But other than that, we had a great appointment and we read the talk called "Forget me not" by President Uchtdorf. As we know that during the talk it talks about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and so right in the middle of Sister Dorsey and I reading the talk to her, she pulls out chocolate and was like, "Who wants some chocolate?" It was pretty funny at the moment. Oh, I will miss my weekly visits to Schwester Räwel.
This week was a busy week because three of the seven days we had to travel back and forth from Kiel to Hamburg because this weekend was a special weekend for the Neumünster stake and the Hamburg stake. Neumünster stake celebrated their 30th year and Hamburg their 50th year. It was wonderful and so as a celebration the two stakes came together and put on a musical and Sister Dorsey and I were involved with it. Sister Dorsey played the violin for some parts and then we played missionaries in the musical for a couple of little parts. It was really fun and a special event to be a part of for these two stakes. We had to go to Hamburg for the dress rehearsal on Thursday and then the musical on Friday. It was so good and the musical consisted on a few stories from some members in the stake. What a wonderful experience.
Before we went to Hamburg on Friday we had a couple of appointments..one with Dorothea and she is just two chapters away from reading through the Book of Mormon for the first time. She is so excited about it and so she is not reading the chapters until we come and visit because she wants us to finish it with her! She is really funny and so cute. I am going to miss her...it was hard to say goodbye to her yesterday.
We then met with Hou and well....it was a little hard at the beginning of the appointment because he told us that he would not be bapitized, but he wants to learn more about the life of Christ and who he was and he is reading in the Book of Mormon every day now. I have faith that as the missionaries continue to meet with him and has he reads more in the Book of Mormon that he will be baptized...he just needs some more time!
Then of course, Saturday was a normal day in Kiel. We had transfer calls in the morning and I found out that I am going to Cottbus, and Sister Peltier, my MTC companion, is coming here to Kiel! That is cool! We then had an awesome appointment with these new people, the Yilmaz family! They are from Turkey and are muslim...but from the look of it..they are not as strong in their faith as most muslims that I have met. They have a 9 year old boy and a 3 year old boy and the whole family sat in for the appointment and it was so cool!!! I hope they continue meeting with the missionaries!!
We then met with Jörn and made cookies with him and watched the restoration film. He is being very difficult because we want to give him to the Elders, but he won't let us bring the Elders over to meet him. So if we are able to find him a ride to church he can meet the Elders there and then hopefully let them then come over...but we will see what happens.
On Sunday we went back to Hamburg for Stake Conference. It was really good. The focus was on Temples and the blessings from it.
It is so cold here right now...I am just so not ready for the winter to come...
That was pretty much the week..sorry I have a headache at the moment..so I am just trying to sort out my thoughts in my head of what happened this week. But next time I write I will be in Cottbus!!! yay!

p.s... I was wanting to ask about Student housing because y'all are probably going to need to get that set up for me soon...i think in like January or something. And then I would like to be an EFY counselor next summer for the sessions in San Antonio if it is possible or even someone to help out with Girls camp or Youth conference.

Busy, busy week
Meine Familie,
Ahh....This is the last week of the transfer and we have transfer calls on Saturday. I really have no idea what is going to happen. Normally I have a pretty good feeling if I am going to stay or go..but this time I honestly do not know. We will see... And to answer some questions... I did get a new wallet...just the cheapest one I saw. And as far as anything else goes...I love chocolate oranges. But I really do not know what else I would want. I will be happy with anything you send!
This week was busy...but great. . . from playing in leaves to setting a baptism date to zone conference to crazy Muslims to so much more!
To begin will probably be with
Monday: We had a pretty good Halloween p-day. We went to the Aquarium and then took pictures in the fall colored leaves for our Halloween pics. It was fun and then we of course had English class. This really weird guy named Peter showed up. Every time I asked him something in Englsih he would say, "I forgot that word." And then we did an activity that if we were all trapped on an deserted island what two things would we want with us and why. Well, Malte (he is an investigator of the Elders) told us that he would want Sister Anderson and Dorsey there with him to teach him English. He is funny.
Tuesday: Was a pretty good day. We met with Dorothea and she is so excited to almost be done reading through the whole Book of Mormon. We are so proud of her...we are hoping that she has finally called the Patriarch so she can get her blessing!
We then went to visit Marian. We taught her chasity...at first we were kind of worried about this because she always talks about all these boyfriends that she has, but it went much better than planned and she apparently has no problem with it. That was good. We are still trying to convince her that Jehovah is not God's name. The Jehovah Witnesses have like literally brained washed her and we are trying to fix the mess which they made. But we have complete faith that Marian will make it to baptism on the 11th of December.
Wednesday: What a day... We first had Hou. He is so awesome. This was our third time meeting with Hou because we met him a couple weeks ago and then he came to church last Sunday and we had an appointment with him on Wednesday. He is on the right track and really wants to find out. He is from China and has no real belief on God or Jesus Christ. But that did not stop us with setting a baptism date with him for December 18th. He wants to find out and this is his goal!
We then met with the Schhurrenburg family. They are some new investigators, but told us to call them after Christmas because this is a busy time for them. They are really nice though, but very strong in their own religions. We then had English class and it went really good..nobody new came.
Thursday: We had to get up earlier so we could catch a train to Hamburg. We had Zone Conference and we had to be there by 9:30. Well, Zone Conference was great. Something that stood out to me that was said by Sister Pimentel, "Faith preceeds the miracle...DREAM BIG & PRAY & WORK." She told us there is nothing wrong with dreaming as long as you are doing the work and are on your knees. I have never had a problem with dreaming...I mean well, look where I am now! So I know by working hard and doing my best...great things will come. Sister Dorsey and I had to give a workshop on obedience...it was fun and our theme was cooking up some obedience and so I got to wear my Texas apron!! I was so happy! Well, after a long day we headed back to Kiel and got back around 10:30 at night. TIRED!
Friday: Was a great day. We went over to the Begemans for lunch. I love this couple. They are wheelchair bound and it makes it really difficult for them to come to church or to do other things. So what is really cool is that they have the dream of traveling the world...but because of their handicapped situation it limits them. So, they collect postcards from around the world that people send to them and they put it in a scrapbook and research where the card is from and put the information in the book too. They have post cards from all over...They don't have one from Texas yet though...I will have to get that one taken care of...but they find joy every time they recieve a new card. Such a neat couple.
We then went by this Muslim couple because they wanted the Book of Mormon in German...we went by a couple weeks ago but the man was not home and so we left an Arabic one with the wife...well, this time they both were home. Muslims are sometimes very difficult and hard to talk to. He kept sounding like he just wanted to argue with us and we were not going to do that. He told us that God literally wrote the Bible and we were like yeah, through Prophets...that was a start of something. Then he kept telling us the Book of Mormon can in no way be written by Prophets and blah blah...well at the end we invited them to just read the book and then after words pray. Well, the wife was like...we can not do that and was very angry and then what surprised us was the husband all of a sudden softened his heart and looked at his wife and said, "We will never know unless we read the book first." It surprised us... maybe they will have a change of heart and be more open to the gospel. We told them we will come back in a couple weeks and see how they are doing and if they have questions.
We then saw Marian once again and it went well...she is sick at the moment and so she could not come to church. We then had an appointment with this guy named Tung and is a student at the university. It was so cool....we went to his dorm and sat there...his other friend was there and we showed them the restoration film. During the film two other guys came into the room and sat on the floor while the movie was playing. At the end the spirit was so strong and Tung said that he wants to find out and cannot wait to start reading in the Book of Mormon. It was awesome and kind of weird at the same time sitting in a college dorm on the bed in a room full of college guys....but when it comes to teaching the gospel you get pulled into some wierd situations...naja. It was great...
Lastly...we met with Jörn and as much as I love teaching him because it reminds me of Neil some...we are going to have to give him to the Elders because he likes us too much. We are going to make cookies with him on Friday and then the following week the elders will come with us so we can switch him over to them.
Saturday: We went by Douglas...the guy from Ghana and reviewed the plan of salvation with him. He is so great and he is going out of town for two weeks and going to visit his friend in Canada who is really sick. We are going to bring Douglas a Book of Mormon to take to his friend because we told him that will give his friend spiritual strength.
Sunday: We had church and a member brought a friend with him. I sat by them during the meetings and the friend seemed to really enjoy it. I gave her my card before she left and we hope she gets more interest to actually meet with us. She loved the fact that every one gets a chance to speak at our church.
But yeah...alot happened this week and this was the best way I could think of to organize some of my thoughts on what happened..so I just went day by day. This week is going to be super busy because we are having to go down to Hamburg like three times this week...but it will be good. I will try to see when I can call those numbers...but I can not promise that it will be this week. I will try to get it done as soon as I can.
I need to go now but I love y'all! And just so you know, as far as me mailing christmas packages or what not, that probably will not happen until after Christmas. We will see....so don't feel bad if you do not have a present to open from me on Christmas. I know I have Blake's family for Christmas...it probably won't be until after. And then anyone else. . . Anyways... is anyone spending Christmas with Mom and Dad this year?

haPpY HaLLoWeEn!!!
Meine Familie,
I am so extremely happy right now...I can not even believe it! So much has happened this week and I would not say that eveything has been really happy and dandy but looking back at the whole week it was one of the best and I can not stop smiling!
Last Monday....a good enjoyable, relaxable p-day was needed to get my mind off of some things. Sister Dorsey and I went to this U Boot memorial. It is a memorial for the German sailers and others who died in the war. It was really cool and I took alot of pictures. . . and of course I will be sending those to y'all.
What made this week alot awesome....well it was the people and some funny things that happened. First off we we have this awesome new investigator named Hou. He is so cool. He is from China and has only been in Germany for two months and is working on getting his PHD. He speaks english with us because he does not know German yet. He is Golden. He does not know any thing yet and is just so curious and willing to learn. We had our first appointment with him on Tuesday and then he came to church on Sunday and we translated for him and even one of the members came up to him to offer to translate...it was great. It was funny though because we were supposed to change our clocks back an hour, but pour Hou...nobody told him and we told him that the bus leaves at 8:50 to go to church. Well....at 8 in the morning we get a phone call and it is Hou asking us where the chuch was because he was there. We felt so bad and we told him that we will be there in at least forty minutes...so we called the Elders quickly because they had a car and we drove down there...Then he was not there. . and our church is like in the middle of nowhere and so we had no idea where he might of gone and so we went on a search for him...It turned out he went on a walk for like 40 minutes since no one was at the church...But we were so happy that he came and he is so sweet and he always just has this huge smile on his face!! We are planning on setting a baptismal date with him this week!!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!
This week we also had an eating appointment with the Kalies. They are such a great family. And so amazing...They are raising there two little grandchildren because their parents won't and they come evey once in a while to take the kids on day trips. But Bruder and Schwester Kalie are just so strong and amazing and the little boy grandson has a money jar of change for his mission!!! It is just so cute. I love it.
We met with Schwester Räwel this week...like every week. She is less active and it is mainly because she has to have a ride to church because of health problems and her really bad hip...But we are trying to work with her because she has picked up smoking again. We are going to just reteach her all the lessons again and really help her. She is so sweet and caring though and has such a strong testimony...we just need to help her a little more with some commandments. But yeah.
English class is going great. I love it so much. But I realize that I have forgotten some english. Like spelling and so forth... But the class is a great help in helping me even learn the English language again. lol. Naja.
On Thursday we had companionship exchanges. . . Sister Dorsey went to Langenhorn and Sister Wakefield came to Kiel with me....It was a fun time. We now have bikes in Kiel because the Langenhorn sisters do not use their bikes and Kiel is a city that is very useful for bikes and so we brought them back on the train with us. Of course, Thursday was my year mark on the mission and I was happy to celebrate it with Sister Wakefield...who is just a transfer ahead of me. We rode our bikes home and we both realized how out of shape we really are by doing so...That was a long bike ride from the train station..not to mention uphill as well. Our first appointment fell out that day and so luckily Dorothea was able to meet up with us earlier. She is just so awesome and we are helping her read through the book of Mormon before December. Later that day our next appointment fell out with Gustave and since we were at the student housing anyways we decided to bring a Vietnamese Book of Mormon to another guy who lived there and then made a return appointment....Then we stayed in the building and did doors...in doing so we found some awesome people. Ameya is from India and he let us in. He is a student here and is Hindu. He is really cool and we taught him how to pray in our church and he said the prayer in his mother language, which is this cool tribe language from India. Really cool. We are going to bring him an English Book of Mormon this week. Then we knocked on Raneez's door. He is cool and we made out an appointment with him and are going to bring him the Urdu book of mormon. Then Sister Wakefield and I went to get ice cream for my year mark and it was yummy...we then enjoyed a nice walk home. It was a great!
Friday we exchanged back and Sister Dorsey and I had an appointment with Marian..she is our baptismal date. We made her a baptism calender and brought it to her. She is so crazy and but we do think she could very much make her date. Except for the fact that she is meeting with the Jehovah witnesses and we are trying to figure out the best way to approach her about that. Our appointment was really good and she is understanding everything....until well...somebody rang the door bell and she went to see who it was...she then ran in the room...luckily at this point we had already said a closing prayer and she said "Hurry down the stairs the Jehovah witnesses are coming up the elevator ." She then took the Book of Mormon and hid it. We hurried out the door and pretty much hid a little bit up the stairs until the Jehovah witnesses were inside. We do need her to understand that she is getting baptized in our church and this is not ok. ... we can not just keep running away or being rushed out of our appointments. She did come to church yesterday and brought a friend...who is a bit weird and thinks that yoga is a sin. But at least they came to church.
We also met with Jörn again...I love it so much because it is like talking to Neil. I like it. We taught him the 2nd lesson and then taught him some English. He is really special person and It is like having Neil around. We also made that Jambalaya that y'all sent me....my goodness that was spicy. Me and sister Dorsey were so surprised on how spicy it tasted and were wondering if we alway thought it was spicy...But then again...we are in Germany and Germans do not do spicy or hot food and so I have not eaten spicy food in a year. I have forgotten what spicy is...and well...that Jambala sure reminded me. lol.
Also..... Happy Birthday Dad!!!!! I hope it is a great and spooky on this Halloween!!! What a great present to get an email from me on your birthday!! lol.
Oh, and I am sending a package home today. It as a few things that people have giving me and also some other little things and a stack of letters that I am sending home. Let me know whenever y'all get it.
To answer Mom's questions... I think I could wear a medium or small vest or shirt...it just depends on if it is a loose shirt of vest or a not loose. I like a lot of colors...mostly green. And I really can not think of anything that I need. But yeah. I would need to get you phone card information some other time.... i do not belive I have it because it was also in my wallet.
Any ways, I hope y'all have a fanstaic week and beginning of November!!! It is awesome.

We felt so bad and we told him that we will be there in at least forty minutes...so we called the Elders quickly because they had a car and we drove down there...Then he was not there. . and our church is like in the middle of nowhere and so we had no idea where he might of gone and so we went on a search for him...It turned out he went on a walk for like 40 minutes since no one was at the church...But we were so happy that he came and he is so sweet and he always just has this huge smile on his face!! We are planning on setting a baptismal date with him this week!!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!
This week we also had an eating appointment with the Kalies. They are such a great family. And so amazing...They are raising there two little grandchildren because their parents won't and they come evey once in a while to take the kids on day trips. But Bruder and Schwester Kalie are just so strong and amazing and the little boy grandson has a money jar of change for his mission!!! It is just so cute. I love it.
We met with Schwester Räwel this week...like every week. She is less active and it is mainly because she has to have a ride to church because of health problems and her really bad hip...But we are trying to work with her because she has picked up smoking again. We are going to just reteach her all the lessons again and really help her. She is so sweet and caring though and has such a strong testimony...we just need to help her a little more with some commandments. But yeah.
English class is going great. I love it so much. But I realize that I have forgotten some english. Like spelling and so forth... But the class is a great help in helping me even learn the English language again. lol. Naja.
On Thursday we had companionship exchanges. . . Sister Dorsey went to Langenhorn and Sister Wakefield came to Kiel with me....It was a fun time. We now have bikes in Kiel because the Langenhorn sisters do not use their bikes and Kiel is a city that is very useful for bikes and so we brought them back on the train with us. Of course, Thursday was my year mark on the mission and I was happy to celebrate it with Sister Wakefield...who is just a transfer ahead of me. We rode our bikes home and we both realized how out of shape we really are by doing so...That was a long bike ride from the train station..not to mention uphill as well. Our first appointment fell out that day and so luckily Dorothea was able to meet up with us earlier. She is just so awesome and we are helping her read through the book of Mormon before December. Later that day our next appointment fell out with Gustave and since we were at the student housing anyways we decided to bring a Vietnamese Book of Mormon to another guy who lived there and then made a return appointment....Then we stayed in the building and did doors...in doing so we found some awesome people. Ameya is from India and he let us in. He is a student here and is Hindu. He is really cool and we taught him how to pray in our church and he said the prayer in his mother language, which is this cool tribe language from India. Really cool. We are going to bring him an English Book of Mormon this week. Then we knocked on Raneez's door. He is cool and we made out an appointment with him and are going to bring him the Urdu book of mormon. Then Sister Wakefield and I went to get ice cream for my year mark and it was yummy...we then enjoyed a nice walk home. It was a great!
Friday we exchanged back and Sister Dorsey and I had an appointment with Marian..she is our baptismal date. We made her a baptism calender and brought it to her. She is so crazy and but we do think she could very much make her date. Except for the fact that she is meeting with the Jehovah witnesses and we are trying to figure out the best way to approach her about that. Our appointment was really good and she is understanding everything....until well...somebody rang the door bell and she went to see who it was...she then ran in the room...luckily at this point we had already said a closing prayer and she said "Hurry down the stairs the Jehovah witnesses are coming up the elevator ." She then took the Book of Mormon and hid it. We hurried out the door and pretty much hid a little bit up the stairs until the Jehovah witnesses were inside. We do need her to understand that she is getting baptized in our church and this is not ok. ... we can not just keep running away or being rushed out of our appointments. She did come to church yesterday and brought a friend...who is a bit weird and thinks that yoga is a sin. But at least they came to church.
We also met with Jörn again...I love it so much because it is like talking to Neil. I like it. We taught him the 2nd lesson and then taught him some English. He is really special person and It is like having Neil around. We also made that Jambalaya that y'all sent me....my goodness that was spicy. Me and sister Dorsey were so surprised on how spicy it tasted and were wondering if we alway thought it was spicy...But then again...we are in Germany and Germans do not do spicy or hot food and so I have not eaten spicy food in a year. I have forgotten what spicy is...and well...that Jambala sure reminded me. lol.
Also..... Happy Birthday Dad!!!!! I hope it is a great and spooky on this Halloween!!! What a great present to get an email from me on your birthday!! lol.
Oh, and I am sending a package home today. It as a few things that people have giving me and also some other little things and a stack of letters that I am sending home. Let me know whenever y'all get it.
To answer Mom's questions... I think I could wear a medium or small vest or shirt...it just depends on if it is a loose shirt of vest or a not loose. I like a lot of colors...mostly green. And I really can not think of anything that I need. But yeah. I would need to get you phone card information some other time.... i do not belive I have it because it was also in my wallet.

My, my, my ... what a week!
Meine Familie,
Where to even begin??? Well on Monday I taught English class and then we stayed at FHE because we were suppose to have an investigator come that did not show up. So anyways, We left that night and we met a stopped and talked to this guy on the way home. We ended up talking to him for a long time and during that time the Elders tried to call us like 5 times...finally I answered the phone and they were like "Did you sisters hide or take our backpacks?" of course we were like no because we did not take there bags....but they did not believe us. Well, we got home and planned and then went to bed....well Tuesday (the next day) was my birthday...I was looking so forward to waking up and opening my cards and package for Morning sport...so at like 6:30 I get up and walk to the living room to find a trail of cup up paper leaves that lead to my chair and Sister Dorsey put my package on the chair and wrote a sign that said Happy Birthday! That was exciting and I opened my package. Thank you very much for the texas apron and all the other stuff....the cards from the ward was a fun surprise too! And oh my gosh....Lindsay is pregnant too!!!! Congrats.
Well, Sister Dorsey said that the Elders were meeting us at the institute center so we can give them our progress record. I was getting my stuff ready to leave the apartment when I opened one of the pockets in my bag and realized that my wallet was missing. . . we then remembered the Elders calling us the night before asking about there bags...we realized that my wallet and there backpacks all got stolen. So that was a happy birthday surprise...Somebody came into the institute center Monday night and stole the elder's backpacks, my wallet and a members cell phone. So what was suppose to be a happy surprise at the institute center because the Elders and the Marks were all waiting there for us and surprised me with cake...turned into me having to be on the phone with the mission office about my mission debit card and also my personal debit card because they got stolen. So at the moment I have no money, but that is ok....I am just disappointed in who ever stole the stuff...The Elders book of mormon was in there backpacks and so they are hoping the guy opens it up to the commandments and then repents. lol. We will see.
But besides that , my birthday was good. We did spend half of the day in the police office because the mission office told us to go file a report...and then we met with Dorothea and read in the Book of Mormon with her. (she is the member that wa baptized in May). After her we had an appointment with our investigator Douglas who is from Ghana. He made us african food and it was yummy...he was even more excited about making us food when he found out that it was my birthday. lol. He is awesome...we are really hoping to be getting a baptismal date set up with him soon!! Although, between our appointments with Dorothea and Douglas we did some doors in some Student housing... We only had time to just do 6 doors because we were making out appointments left and right and even taught the 1st lesson with one of them...we have our appointments to bring a couple of the people the Book of Mormon this week! It was so great!
So then on Wednesday we were to have an appointment with this guy named Mohammed Umback. From the name you can probably tell that he is muslim. But we were suppose to bring him by an Arabic book of mormon. He was not home, but his wife and there 1 year old son were. She let us in and we talked with her and she can not read Arabic, but she can read German and so we are going to bring her a german book of mormon this week! I am so excited and she is really cool!
We also added on two more new investigatiors on Thursday when we had an appointment with Mr and Mrs. Grabovski. They are an older couple...grandparents and they are baptist. They are really nice and open and we taught them the 1st lesson. Bruder Goldmund came with because he is there next door neighbor. It was a great appointment, but they are not able to met with us again until November..so we have an appointment set up for the first of second week in November.
We also met with Ben this week....Someone just needs to hit him on the head. He just will not pray and he is doing the reading and everything. But he has so many questions that he asks us, but we can not answer them all and he just does not realized that if he actually prays and reads the book that he probably will find his answers. We are just working with him with gaining more of a faith in Jesus Christ.
Marion, the women with a baptismal date....we had an appointment with her this week....It was crazy. We tried to watch the restoration and she was too quick to press play and so it was playing in English and she would not let us change it to german....so as result she did not understand a single thing that was happening and then her friend came over and we pretty much got kicked out because she was now going to leave with her friend, but we did get an appointment set up for this week. We will see how it goes...This lady is really weird.
We also had an appointment with this guy named Jörn. He is mentally disabled and I got so excited because it reminds me of talking to Neil. He is more there though in vocabulary and speech than Neil is. But it was fun and he wants me to teach him English because I told him that is what I study. I am excited to see him again this week!
We visited the Begeman's this week. They are such an awesome couple who can not really make it to church because of the wheelchairs and all, but they are brought the Sacrament on occasion. They are so cool and are a couple of the happiest people I know.
On Sunday we had an eating appointment with the Labahn family...She made Liver Wurst and Blood Wurst and then normal meat and potatoes and sourkraut....And she really likes liver wurst and blood wurst, but said we do not have to eat it if we do not want because her husband also refuses to eat it...Just the thought of eating blood is disgusting...I did not eat it. gross... But yeah. that was my week..busy, stressful, and finally over. I am praying for a better week this week, but I know that Heavenly Father is always there!

Interesting, yet productive week
Meine Familie,
Moin Moin...greetings from the waters of Kiel!!!! Well....I am glad to hear that Mom just keeps getting missionary opportunities!!! That is great. And I did get the package and also the cards from Grandma and Grandpa Anderson, and Grandma Matthews, and Blake, and Eric...I am waiting to open them all tomorrow for my birthday...so thank you for the cards and package!!!! Ahh....I am 22 tomorrow...I remember when I was just 10 years old and I started counting down how long I have until I am 21 so I could go on my mission and now I am turning 22 and on my mission!!!! so cool! And what better present than to get to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ...the greatest gift to children of God. I love it!
Well if I could describe this week in one word I would say Intresting....definitely weird!
Last p-day we went to a carnival on the harbor...It was fun and we went in those big air balls that the put on water...That was so much fun...for sure worth it!!! lol.
So English class is going so well..I love teaching English...all though I have realized that I have forgotten how to spell words in English. But more people are showing up and so that is really great!! We have two members that come and then the rest are not members. So it is going really good.
Dorothea is doing awesome...She is getting more excited to be recieving her patriarchal blessing!!!! I am so happy for her.
So the beginning of this week was actually way awesome...it was towards the end of the week that it turned really weird. . . although the beginning of the week seems so far away. On Tuesday we had an appointment with this guy named Gustave...He is from Camoroon. We had a first appointment and we taught him the restoration and watched the film in french. It was so powerful and the spirit was so strong...in fact, Gustave was so overwhelmed by all the new things he had learned and he really wants to find out if it is true...he is so cool. I cannot wait to see him again this week...hopefully tonight.
Another miracle person this week was Sammi... I can not remember what country he is from but he is from the middle east. We met him on Monday night and invited him to institute. On Tuesday he called us to find out how to get to the institute center...Then on Wednesday he went to the church building which was about an half and hour away...luckily we got the situation cleared met him at the train station and walked to the institute together...he really enjoyed it...He still wants to come to the activities and we are hopeing that he will be wanting to start meeting with us to learn the lessons!!! But he was a miracle because a few weeks ago the elders I guess talked to him on the street and almost made out an appointment but did not and then we found him and he came to instititute. So cool.
There was also Ferida this week...we met with her. She is a very strong Muslim and was excited to recieve the Book of Mormon but does not have intrest to keep meeting....maybe one day! Ok.... So then the WEIRD part of the week. Well, Friday came and we were suppose to have an appointment with this Mom in our ward and her daughter who is not a member. But we recieved a text from them in the morning canceling our appointment...so we came up with our backup plans. That morning we went by Douglas's shop. He is the one from Ghana. He owns the Spirit of Africa shop here. We went by to see if he read in the Book of Mormon and to teach him. We taught him the restoration and he is gaining more of a curiosity. It went really well and we are hoping to be setting a bapitsimal date with him this week. He invited us over this week and he is going to make us African food...I am excited! Then we went home from lunch and after words we decided to go visit Schwester Räwel and bring her an Ensign about baptism and new members of the church..we thought it would be good since she is less active...well we were for sure unexpected visiters...and as we were sitting in the living room she had to go to the bathroom and so she did and she left the door open so we heard all the grunting and sounds she was making...never thought I would have that experience. Then after her we decided to go by some previous investigators and contacts in the area and members. Well we saw this one previous investigator named Marion. We ringed the bell and she let us right in...so we had a walk in appointment...I will have to take a picture of her appartment some time because in order to discribe how weird and crazy this lady is..you just have to see her appartment. She is crazy and I do not think that she is completely there in the head...but I look at her as...well every body needs the gospel and the chance to be baptized. I invited her to be baptized on December 11 and she said yes...but the problem right now is that the Jehova witnesses are meeting with her and they pick her up every sunday to go to church...so we need to get her a ride to our church so she stops going to theres and that she understands that our church has the priesthood authority to baptize and that once you are baptized you can not go get baptized in another church..so we need to work on her gaining a testimony of our church because right now she thinks she can get baptized in the Jehova witnesses church and also ours. She is crazy. But after her we went by this less active man in the ward...Bruder Fesser... I have never met him before and we went by...well He was not wearing any pants and it was gross...He said to call before we decide to drop by... I do not think that will be a problem...Welll..Just in that one day...it was a very intresting weird day...full of intresting people. But every one of them needs the gospel too.
Saturday was a lot better....We went over to the Goldmunds for lunch... Sister Goldmund is from Saltlake and her husband is from Kiel...They have an 18 year old and a 15 year old son...it is really funny because when they met... She came over to Germany to learn german and he was looking for an english tutor and so yeah...now he is converted to the chuch and they have two sons...they are awesome. And the one home we go to that we get american food for lunch!!! I love it!!! After them we went by a contact on there street and made out a return appointment .... Bruder Goldmund is going to come with us to the appointment this week.
Later that night... we had our appointment with Le, the investigator from China. Wang came with us and it was really good. We taught about the priesthood and why it is important and also about prayer....He will not pray and he thinks tool logically about things...So anyways, he had alot of questions about life after death and so we are going to teach the plan of salvation next time.
Sunday at church was really good...we watched the last session of General Conference...It was really good...I love that is was focased alot on missionary work!! That night we had an appointment with Ben.. Before the appointment I was thinking that we should tell Ben that we are not going to continue meeting with him because he is not progressing towards prayer and stuff and finding out if it is true because he won't pray either. But than we had a really good appointment and taught the 3rd lesson. It went really well and we almost set a date with him...He said that he will think about it, so we are going to ask him next time again to be baptized!!! So we are still meeting with him. YAY!
So that was pretty much my week...It was a really busy week and we have another busy week ahead because of all these cool people we are finding. So my mind right now is everywhere. But I love y'all and keep sharing the gospel and thanks for the birthday wishes!!! I love y'all.

Before the appointment I was thinking that we should tell Ben that we are not going to continue meeting with him because he is not progressing towards prayer and stuff and finding out if it is true because he won't pray either. But than we had a really good appointment and taught the 3rd lesson. It went really well and we almost set a date with him...He said that he will think about it, so we are going to ask him next time again to be baptized!!! So we are still meeting with him. YAY!
So that was pretty much my week...It was a really busy week and we have another busy week ahead because of all these cool people we are finding. So my mind right now is everywhere. But I love y'all and keep sharing the gospel and thanks for the birthday wishes!!! I love y'all.

Ahhh.... I cannot believe I am back in Kiel and it is rockin' as ever!!!! So to answer a bit of Mom's questions... I was in Rostock last week for a day because once a transfer we do companionship exchanges and I got to go back to Rostock. My new companion is Sister Dorsey and she goes home on December 13th. She is from Utah, as are most of my companions. Naja.
Anyways, this week was really awesome. I am so happy that Mom had some awesome missionary work and that you are going to be giving Amy a Book of Mormon. I really hope she starts meeting with the missionaries. That would be cool. Anyways... Everyday is so amazing and I love this work everyday.
On Monday, my last day in Hamburg, we went on the Haffen tour. That was fun. I will be getting pictures because my camera was dead. The others are going to email me the pictures. But it was a really nice relaxing p-day.
So yes, I am back in Kiel and it is awesome. We have had a busy week. We met with Dorothea, who was that member baptized back in May. She is so excited to be getting her patriarchal blessing and I am so grateful to help her prepare for it. We are also teaching two English classes and that is so much fun....although I realize that I have forgotten a lot. But I love it because it reassures me that when I go home I still want to finish majoring in English. It is a great finding tool as well and we have a couple nonmembers in the class.
We also visited Schwester Hardel, then right after, Schwester Bourwieg, and then Schwester Christenson.....all of which fed us something. I now know the three members in the ward to not visit on the same day...ahh..but it was good.

We also met with Douglas again this week....he is from Ghana. So cool, and he gave me a Ghana soccer bandana. lol. He is really awesome, we are just trying to get him a little more interested in what we teach.
hmmm...what else this week? On Sunday we had an awesome appointment with Ben. He still is not praying, but I think that after our appointment last night he will. We had a very powerful appointment as we talked about the plan of salvation and prayer and the only way to find out if it is true. He told us that he is looking for truth and that he is curious. I just keep praying that he will actually pray.
After Ben we went and did some doors...really funny. We did the doors in this neighborhood and we knocked on a couple and the people were very not nice. Then we knocked on this other door and some kids answered. We asked if their parents were home and they said no and that they were next door. We said ok and gave them a card to give to their parents. Well, we went to the next door where those kids parents were and this lady that lived there answered the door. She was so friendly and told us she did not have time at the moment because she had guests over. Then, a man came to the door and said, you are mormons...although he said it very negatively and so we said...no, we are from the Church of Jesus Christ. He then said "Well, do not knock on the next door because my kids are over there". Little did he know that we had already went to his house and he had a card waiting for him there...lol. I hope he was not mad when he went home. Then, the next door we knocked on, the guy was very nice and invited us in. But, as soon as we walked in, his wife jumps up and says...no we do not want y'all here. So, we had to leave...but the guy was really nice and he would have talked to us. So yeah, that was doors last night. Maybe we will find someone in that neighborhood...we will see.
This has been a great week and I know that this coming week will continue to be so...we have some great appointments set up!!!!!!! Keep sharing the gospel with your friends and I love y'all!!!

It has POWER!!!
Meine Familie,
So I have very much enjoyed my two weeks in Langenhorn, but now I will be going back to KIEL tomorrow and Sister Dorsey will be my companion. I am so excited to be going back to Kiel. But, before that, this week had to be one of the most amazing weeks of my mission!!!!!!! Well, the week started out with an awesome guy named Adam that we met. He is so Golden. In our appointment he was so excited when he found out that we have a living Prophet on the earth today...it was so funny and he was like "Why have I never known this before?" He was so enthusiastic about everything and I loved the excitment that he had to learn more and more!!! That was a sick appointment... Later, we had a thing called ChiKong which I guess is some sort of meditation thing that this member here does...we participated in it and it was very interesting..lol.
Now for the best part of the week...if i may say so....ROSTOCK!!!! I got to go back to my golden city...my first city on the mission. It was amazing. I got to see Bruder Schmidt and this time I could actually understand what he was saying. lol. He was so surprised and excited and he gave me a big hug...it was funny.
Julie and Danny were also there at ping pong. It was so much fun and I literally felt that I was home again and so much more confident with my German.
General Conference was so amazing. I got to see the Relief Society and the Saturday morning session on Saturday and then Sunday I got to see the Saturday afternoon and the Sunday morning session. The talks were amazing. I loved President Monson's talk. It reminded me about the package that y'all sent me because it had not arrived yet and it had the wrong address on it. I actually remember that the night before the package came, I prayed really hard that it would arrive and somehow make it with the false address. The next morning when I woke up I prayed about it again. lol. Well, Sister Bush and I got home about 9:30 that previous night and we left our apartment at like 9:00 the next morning. So, sometime between 10 p.m and 9 a.m somebody delivered a notice that my package had arrived. lol!! Wow! I would say that I had a testimony builder of prayer, so I just laughed has President Monson told that story, because I had the same story, just with a package..lol. President Uchtdorf's talk in the Relief Society meeting was so amazing. I felt like it was speaking straight to me and just what I needed to hear. I loved the conference even more as it talked about the need to be known and who we are and sharing the gospel...So many more people can be found if the members of the church just bring their friends and other people to the gospel... We as missionaries can only do so much, only talk to so many people a day..but as members we can share our light and fullfill a life long mission on the earth. I was always one growing up sharing the gospel...I remember in high school I would sneak pass along cards in peoples' back packs during lunch...We need to find a love and enthusiasm for the Gospel of Jesus Christ...I am so thankful for Mom and Dad because you raised me to love my Father in Heaven and to serve him... I am so grateful for my older siblings who were also raised that way and all served missions... y'all were always my inspiration to serve one myself. I know we will all be together for eternity. Families are and will be blessed through this message of the restored Gospel. The story of the first vision changes lives. I recall a guy on the street that Sister Bush and I once talked to ... I asked him what God meant for him. He did not really know and we continued to tell him that God speaks to man today and if he would be interested to receive the Book of Mormon. He did not want to make an appointment at all and we told him that we would like to meet with him again and share our message of a boy who saw and spoke with Jesus and God. He said, "well, i have two minutes right now ....so just tell it to me now." At the moment we recited and told him the story of the first vision, the power behind the story touched him and I once more asked if he would have time to met us on Thursday. He agreed with no hesitation...the power of the restoration is just that...it has power. We need to all believe that. If we do, there is no need to fear and not tell others. I could go on with stories, but I will just leave it at that and let y'all take the challenge this week to tell someone not of our faith the first vision and the restoration. It has power and can change the lives of others. I hope to hear back from y'all of some amazing experiences that y'all have with this challenge...

On the train ride to Rostock, Sister Wakefield was giving me some updates on what has happened. She said that the Hagemans never meet with them because after I left the sisters treated Marie rude and they did not want anything to do with them. Well, I gave Schwester Hageman a call and said that I am back in Rostock for a day and would love to see her. Sure enough, she was excited to agree. We went over there and had a fun time teaching Marie and laughing. Schwester Hageman is once again going to let the Sisters come over. I really pray that Marie gets baptized one day and that her Mom becomes active once again. I love them so much and I told them that I would write. Marie was so sad to say goodbye, but I told her that we will for sure see each other again. It was so much fun. I loved going back to where my mission began and where I have probably learned and grown the most.

The experiences and the emotions and the miracles that happen everyday on a mission are something that can never be replaced. I think about how long I have dreamed for this mission and now I am here. I am living this dream that I have had since a child. I can say with out a doubt that Jesus is the Christ. He is the only way to find true joy. He is the only way to our Father in Heaven. The Book of Mormon is the most correct book on the face of the earth. It has the witness that Christ lives and gives testimony to the bible. It is the foundation of what we believe and the strength to open many doors around us. I know that without a doubt that I have seen God's hand in this work. I have seen his children come to him and reject him. I have seen the power of the priesthood through blessing and through baptism. I have much more to see and witness and I am so excited to be a part of this great message to bring his children into the truth. General Conference was so amazing. Hamburg, Sick, and a Drit

Well, I think the subject kind of says it all for this week. So to give kind of a brief of what has happened ... at the beginning of this transfer Sister Bush went to the hospital and got an x-ray done of her foot. I guess last summer she had surgery and a metal plate was put into her foot. Her foot has been bothering her since she arrived in Germany in March. She was finally able to see a doctor in Kiel and it turned out she had a broken screw which was causing her pain. Ever since then we have been awaiting word from President and the mission doctors to see what needed to be done. As a result, we found out last Monday that Sister Bush will be going home for surgery and when she is fully recovered she will return. So, we had Monday and Tuesday in Kiel and then on Wednesday I got sent to Langenhorn and she traveled to Berlin so she can fly out Thursday morning. So, I am in Langenhorn which is like the ouskirts of Hamburg. I am here in a drit with Sister Neukom, who is a golden and from Switzerland, and Sister Kitterman who is from Utah. I am with them until next Tuesday and then I will be going back to Kiel with a new companion because President said that there will be some new sisters coming in so I will be able to go back. So, letters can still be sent and my stuff is still there except for what I needed for two weeks.
So Langenhorn. It is a fun city and it is fun to serve with Sisters Neukom and Kitterman. We have all had a fun time. Though, I will say it is weird sometimes because I feel like I am just a tag-along because I am only here for a couple weeks. But it has been fun. The sisters have this 12 year old boy, Justin, that they have taught the lessons to and he was baptized on Sunday. His grandparents are members and his mom is not and his dad is a less active. It was a wonderful day and the spirit was felt so strong from the love and support this boy received.
So yeah, Monday and Tuesday was more of getting ready to leave Kiel and make sure that our investigators were being taken care of for a couple weeks and then Wednesday the sisters picked me up at the train station. Later that day, we met with this guy Ray, who is actually from Texas...he has lived in Germany though forever. Sister Kitterman had promised to bring him Koolaid and he cried...he is like this 50 year old man and he cried when he saw the koolaid. He says it is because he has not seen it in about 30 years since he has been in Germany...it reminded me...hey do you want to send me koolaid???? lol. Thursday all of our appointments fell out so we just did finding. It was fun though because with three of us, one of us goes off by ourself and the other two stay together and then we come back together and when it gets too dark we all stay together. Friday we had President Interviews...I have had a cold since Thursday and so I was not feeling the best, but interviews when really well and our zone leaders gave a lesson and their topic was marriage...lol. It was scary to see how closly related marriage and a mission are. Ahh. Marriage scares me all together...YAY for missions!!!!!!!!!!. Saturday all of our appointments fell out once again, but that is ok because this one guy we talked to on the street said he would come to church and then on Sunday he showed up and made another appointment with us...that was so cool. Like I mentioned, on Sunday there was a baptism. It was awesome. And not to mention, there was also one in Leipzig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Burcan got baptized!!!

So yeah that was pretty much my week...crazy. I have one more here in Langenhorn..not to mention I am way excited for conference. And to answer Mom....no, I did not get to see the RS broadcast. But yeah...I am ready for another awesome week of doing what I have dreamed to do my whole life....MISSIONARY WORK!!!! yay!

Where does the time go?!?!
Meine Familie,
Ahhhhhh...in one more week I will be hitting my 11 month mark...what the heck? Don't get mad at me when I say that I do not want to come home in 7 months. I miss y'all, but I do not want to come home..lol. This week has seriously flown by and I feel like I was just sitting here the other day writing to y'all about last week, and now I am writing about what happened this past week. I want to say first off that I am glad y'all got my package and I did also get y'alls package. Thank you so much. I love the pictures and the Mac and cheese was so cool to see and the Texas towel as well. I do not know what I would like for my birthday...Mac and cheese is always good. lol. I would like an apron. . . and of course, Swedish fish is my favorite. I really do not know. I will think about that this week. But I do have a question regarding Christmas. Are we drawing names this year still or what are we doing for Christmas as far as presents go? I would like to know if I am supposed to get something for someone specifically or what.

This week was alot of fun and really busy which made the time go by so fast. On Monday we spent our p-day with Anne, a YSA here in Kiel. She is alot of fun and was baptized a couple years ago. She is so nice to us and loves hanging out with us. We go and have lunch with her sometimes during the week. It is always fun.

Dorothea Brey is doing awesome. We are helping her prepare to get her patriarchal blessing. The patriarch is coming on Sunday to speak and so she is going to talk to him about geting hers. I am so excited for her...she was baptized in May and is just a light to us all.
We also ate at the Timm family's home this week. I love them so much. Lani, the little girl is just our shadow and wants to also be a sister missionary...even made us play dress up with her. Cute girl though.
We have two new investigators...Nadine and Micheal. They are not married and together have a 6 year old boy. They are really difficult to teach, but we are trying our best to answer their questions that they have.
Sister Bush and I are also teaching the English class.. It is so fun and I love it at all. It reminds me again on why I picked to be an English major. It is wonderful and I look forward to keep teaching it.
Ben, our investigator is sometimes a pain. We had our third appointment with him. We tried to teach the third lesson. He just ask us weird questions...He has a big problem in that we come from Adam and Eve and that their kids had kids with each other and further. It is sometimes difficult during our appointments. Sister Bush thinks that he likes her, so we make sure we always have someone joint teach with us.
Sandra is doing awesome. We watched the Restoration with her and she invited a friend over to. She is curious on what we believe and we really think that she will try to find out if there is a God and if what we are saying is true. She is a really cute girl. Her boyfriend was sick and so he was asleep in the bedroom. We will see if he is better next time.
Hannah...we do not know what is going on. She is really hard to get a hold of right now. We think it is because of her family. They think we are a cult. We are going to try to call her again today and maybe take a card by.
I know without a doubt the Church is true. I have seen it bless my life and the lives of others. I love it so much. I am so grateful that I get to be with y'all for eternity and I know that all familes can be together forever. We are here on the earth for the same purpose and that is to prepare to meet God. I know that to be true. Thank you Mom and Dad for teaching me and raising me in this gospel. It means alot...I am exactly where the Lord wants me to be!!

Meine Familie,
So being out here and being less than half way done with my mission and getting closer to hitting my year mark in October...I realized that I really do learn something everyday and every moment of my mission. And this week I want to focus on "JUST LISTEN." I have seen my self really come a long way from when I first started my mission to now and I am so grateful for that. I can actually speak german now and understand it...It may not be very good, but I can at least get my message across and trust in the Lord to help me communticate. Sister Bush and I started off our first week together not very good. We both are very different and It was hard for me. But I learned to JUST LISTEN. I did not want the beginning to also end up being the end...And so I listened to the spirit and I began to serve her and I really can say that I love her. She and I do not always see eye to eye with each other, but we talk things through and the lord as blessed us. I remember when I first met Sister Bush and one of the first things I said to her was..."Lets go baptize Kiel" She told me that she has always been scared to extend that commitment and I told her that I was not...So We began working.... As a result we were blessed with Hannah. Hannah is this girl that the elders found right before we got her...they have only met with her once and decided that they would give her to us. So on Monday Sister Bush and I had our first appointment with her. She was so cute and Anne, a member here, came with us. The lesson went great and she loved the plan of salvation. .. . Then Wednesday we met with her once more and Anne came with us. We taught the third lesson and when we got to baptism...Hannah had to go check on one of her kids...While Hannah was out of the room Anne looked at us and said..."Do not ask her today" I was puzzled and thought in my head...that is why I am here and it never hurts to invite someone. I knew that within my heart that the spirit was telling me to invite Hannah. I could have easily listened to Anne, but the spirit was too strong and I knew who I should listen too. Hannah came back into the room and sat down...I looked at Hannah and with a smile on my face told her that this is the only way and I bore my testimony of it...I then told her that when we set a goal God will help us reach that goal that we could be ready...the spirit was still prompting me and I told her that we have a baptism on October 16th and if she will be baptized on this day and to pray about it. Hannah said yes...and I could feel my eyes watering up. I know that we need to Just LISTEN to the spirit...satan will always put obstacles in our way to help us not listen...but I know that is is never the spirit that tells us not to invite one to be baptized. It just warmed my heart and it was the best way to end our day. I love it so much. Hannah even gave me a hug at the end and told me thankyou...It was a moment I will never forget to JUST LISTEN.

The rest of the week was wonderful as we are now teaching the English class...I love it so much and I really miss being an english major back home..but that is ok...considering I do not want to come home at all (do not hate me for saying that. lol) We helped a sister in our ward pack some..she will be moving next week to go to America to live with her husband. We also met again with Sandra and Martin and gave them the book of mormon. They seem really interested and they still want us to be coming back. I am just so excited for the work here in Kiel and that it will keep moving forward. I love it so much.
Ben our investigator...most interesting appointment ever...We are going to to teach him the plan of salvation and when we teach earth life focas a little more on the Priesthood, Homosexuality, and Prophets...crazy . But that is what he was asking alot about..It was funny when Sister Bush asked him in our appointment if he was gay...lol.. he is not, but it was really funny. So yeah. We are still really working on him. But yeah...I do not know what else to really say from this week, but we did talk to this guy on the street and he spoke English and when I approached him I was speaking german when he asked if we spoke english..When I then began speaking in English..I realized I have to know translate from german to english in my head and it was really hard. lol. I probably sounded really dumb, but hey we made out and appointment... we do have a busy week planned this coming week...so next Monday I will have more to say, but yeah. I love the work and that I get to live my dream and continue seeing miracles. I love y'all

Ahhh... I am in Kiel!!!
So this week seemed like well...longer than a week. Monday was my last day in Leipzig and I would say that it was pretty hard to say goodbye. We went to FHE that night and there I had to say goodbye to some great friends of mine. Saying goodbye to Bürcan was probably the hardest because he started crying a little bit. It made my eyes tear up a little bit as well. It was really cute because he kept telling me, "Remember September 25th, I am getting baptized" I told him I will try my very best to come back and be there for his baptism. After all, Micheal and Maik should also be getting baptized on that day.
Tuesday my train left to go to Kiel and it was about a four to five hour train ride and I needed to also switch trains in Hamburg. Well, it turned out that Sister Bush, my new companion, also needed to switch trains in Hamburg and so we ended up riding to Kiel, the rest of the way, together. Sister Bush is from Maryland, although she grew up in Colorado. She has been out on her mission for about 6 months. Anyways, we got to Kiel and the zone leaders and the senior couple were there waiting for us. The Zone leaders drove our stuff to the apartment and we went and got something to eat with Sister and Elder Marks, the senior couple. It was great. There are four elders here in Kiel and a Senior couple. They have all been so helpful to us and are really grateful for us. The Elders even gave us some contact sheets and old investigators and stuff to help us get started with our new program here in Kiel. We got a brand new phone and so we do not have any numbers really, but we are getting those as well.
We met Bishop Haak that night and he was helpful in telling us what less active women that we could go by and visit. He is such an awesome Bishop. The west is somewhat different from the east in ways such as, there are no DDR buildings, people are more friendly and open to talking to you on the street, and everyone seems to belong to a church, whereas in the east everyone was like atheist. In the ward everyone wants to be involved with the missionary work and come do stuff with us, not to menition that this ward is so excited to be getting sisters.
Ahhh... I am in Kiel!!!
So this week seemed like well...longer than a week. Monday was my last day in Leipzig and I would say that it was pretty hard to say goodbye. We went to FHE that night and there I had to say goodbye to some great friends of mine. Saying goodbye to Bürcan was probably the hardest because he started crying a little bit. It made my eyes tear up a little bit as well. It was really cute because he kept telling me, "Remember September 25th, I am getting baptized" I told him I will try my very best to come back and be there for his baptism. After all, Micheal and Maik should also be getting baptized on that day.
Tuesday my train left to go to Kiel and it was about a four to five hour train ride and I needed to also switch trains in Hamburg. Well, it turned out that Sister Bush, my new companion, also needed to switch trains in Hamburg and so we ended up riding to Kiel, the rest of the way, together. Sister Bush is from Maryland, although she grew up in Colorado. She has been out on her mission for about 6 months. Anyways, we got to Kiel and the zone leaders and the senior couple were there waiting for us. The Zone leaders drove our stuff to the apartment and we went and got something to eat with Sister and Elder Marks, the senior couple. It was great. There are four elders here in Kiel and a Senior couple. They have all been so helpful to us and are really grateful for us. The Elders even gave us some contact sheets and old investigators and stuff to help us get started with our new program here in Kiel. We got a brand new phone and so we do not have any numbers really, but we are getting those as well.
We met Bishop Haak that night and he was helpful in telling us what less active women that we could go by and visit. He is such an awesome Bishop. The west is somewhat different from the east in ways such as, there are no DDR buildings, people are more friendly and open to talking to you on the street, and everyone seems to belong to a church, whereas in the east everyone was like atheist. In the ward everyone wants to be involved with the missionary work and come do stuff with us, not to menition that this ward is so excited to be getting sisters.
This week we were able to visit some people. Anne is this young single adult that is so fun and great to be around. She made us lunch on Wednesday and helped us learn the city a little bit. I love it. She is a cute girl and was found by sisters two years ago. That is the last time this ward had sisters. Dorothea is a member who was baptized in May. The Elders gave her to us to go visit. She is so cute and excited for the gospel and she even went to the temple for the first time on Saturday, her birthday, in Denmark. Schwester Bourwieg is this older lady in the ward.. She fed us lunch on Friday and served a mission years ago at the Frankfurt Temple. She is so sweet. I am just so excited to keep working with these members. Bruder Zickler is our Ward mission leader. He and his wife are so awesome and fun. We went over to their place Friday night and they fed us and helped us know where to go and who we should visit. The Goldmund family is a family we ate lunch with on Saturday (I have never had so many eating appointments in a week, my goodness). This family is awesome. Schwester Goldmund is from Salt Lake and her husband is from Kiel and they have a 15 and 18 year old boys. They are fun and made us chicken pot pie and carrot cake. Wow, I have not had that since before my mission..American food! lol.
We did find some cool people this week too. One was Sandra and Martin. Sandra was actually a referal to me from Schwester Beyrich in Leipzig. Sandra is her little sister and they are not members. We went by and they let us in and we have a return appointment to bring them the Book of Mormon. I am so excited. Frau Butzlaff was an appointment from the elders. She is a really old lady and loves to talk. She had a Book of Mormon that she was given a long time ago and so we tried teaching a first...but she is the best distracter ever. We kept bringing the topic back to the restoration. lol. Such a sweet lady though. And then we found this guy Ben on the street and had an appointment with him. He has so many questions. He has read the bible like 6 times and says he will read the Book of Mormon. He's not really sure if God is there though, but I am excited to keep meeting with him and help him progress.
We did have church on Sunday and everyone is so excited to have 8 missionaries in the ward... and so many more are excited that sisters are in the ward. We met so many people, so I cannot remember everyone's name, but I will get it down. There are a ton of young people in the ward and I had so many children running up to me and wanting me to play with them. After church all of us missionaries went over to the Timm family's home for lunch. It was alot of fun and they have a little girl who is about 6 or 7 and the oldest of four boys. Her name is Lani and she reminds me of me...lol. She was totally how I was when I was little and she really wants to be a sister missionary. Love her. But yeah. This week has been crazy as Sister Bush and I were just trying to get things oraganized and get to know the area. We will see what this week brings and I am so excited to get this program going in Kiel. love it.
